Lucio Fontana

Lucio Fontana was an Argentine naturalized Italian painter, ceramist and sculptor. Born in Argentina, to an Italian family, in Milan he attended the Brera Academy, dedicating himself to sculpture; upon returning to Buenos Aires he wrote the Manifyto blanco with which he laid the foundations of the spatialist movement. In the early 1950s he created canvases with holes which were followed by the famous “cuts”. In his artistic creations he used numerous techniques, both in painting, sculpture and ceramics.
