At the end of August 1975 numerous fires broke out in Italian prisons due to the failure to implement the new prison regulations. In Rebibbia, around 800 inmates barricade themselves in the common areas and on the roof. Every attempt to negotiate is unsuccessful. Marcello Geppetti creates a very strong serve. We chose the photo that marks the epilogue of the revolt: the intervention of the helicopters bombarding the roof with tear gas.
