Jimi Hendrix at Brancaccio Theatre. Rome, June 1968
Essential Jimi Hendrix is a triptych that aims to extract the three essential elements of Jimi Hendrix's music from the original photo, highlighting details of the fingers and mouth. The operation is made possible because the details are extracted from a medium format negative which allows for extreme enlargement.
Among journalists disdained by the arrival of the "ugly guy with a perm" and young people clamoring, on May 25, 1968 the Jimi Hendrix Experience arrived at the Teatro Brancaccio in Rome. What happened that night was much more than just a concert: a masterful performance, culminating in Jimi Hendrix playing his signature guitar, the Fender Stratocaster, with his teeth, then tossing it into the air.
Among those present there was also Marcello Geppetti, ready to immortalize unique moments in the history of music, frozen in some shots of Jimi Hendrix performing, in his own way, on the Brancaccio stage.
The photo is sold with a certificate of authenticity from the Marcello Geppetti Media Company.
Photographs cannot be purchased separately.
